We are currently recruiting for a Grounds Maintenance Assistant to join our team in Cumbria.
Working hours: 07:30 - 16:00 Monday - Sunday 40 hours per week.
Job Purpose:
Provide support to the site team, responding to and carrying out reactive and planned works across the respective site.
Principal Accountabilities:
Routine planned Preventative Maintenance tasks as directed by site manager / supervisor covering all site grounds maintenance this includes the following:
Seasonal grass cutting where required and seasonal site gritting for snow and ice
Weed killing and removal of weeds as required
Ground waterways and ditch clearance
The pruning or removal of trees, hedges and shrubs as required
Complete maintenance to all planted areas associated with the site
To carry out seasonal planting in agreed areas
To be responsible for the care and proper use of grounds maintenance plant equipment
Routine cleaning and lubrication of plant and equipment as directed
Assistance to other service teams, as requested, when grounds maintenance is up to date within the skill level and capability of the post holder, as an example:
To load and unload deliveries
Moving of office furniture and equipment, ensuring compliance with manual handling, risk assessments and method statements
Moving of stores and equipment, ensuring compliance with manual handling, risk assessments, method statements, and client specific access
permits and equipment move and store procedures
Completion of maintenance task sheets relating to all work carried out. Other factors:
Smart, presentable appearance
Personable and approachable
Good communication skills in both verbal and written formats
Must be willing to undertake further training
Person Specification
Previous grounds maintenance experience / qualifications
Full driving license
Previous experience in a front facing customer service industry
English comprehension to a standard which is able to understand and action both written and oral instructions and training materials given
Well organised with the ability to prioritise workloads
