We are looking to recruit 5 senior people to work with our principal and lead architects, tasked with leading the architecture practice and driving forward HM Land Registry's transformation.

The architecture practice supports this by producing a forward view of our intentional architecture. This enables fast paced change without sacrificing governance and oversight by producing essential rather than extensive documentation. To deliver this, the Architecture Practice vision is "to become a high performing practice that will lead transformation of the organisation by ensuring we use the right technologies, at the right time, in the right way."

The Architecture Practice covers all architecture domains. You may have one or more architecture specialisms already, in areas such as Business, Data, Security, Infrastructure or Software, or you may be a highly experienced and capable lead software engineer, business or data analyst looking for their next opportunity.

The Architecture Practice produces the Technology Strategy to ensure HMLR is moving towards a collectively agreed and understood target state that aligns with business objectives, and uses this strategy to:

- Inform all decisions on technical architecture and design across the domains of business, data, software, infrastructure and security

- Guide leadership, influence future technology decisions and support the development of roadmaps

- Provide the validation framework to technically assure business change

- Avoid technical debt, or technology lock-in, by ensuring it evolves with HMLR's needs and remains relevant

To be successful as a Senior Technical Architect, you will have experience in:

- Designing solutions for large projects and seeing those designs through to delivery

- Taking accountability for end-to-end solutions from initiation to initial delivery and its ongoing lifecycle in line with a strategy

- Identifying and managing change and its impact

- Planning for decommissioning, maintainability and scalability

- Working very close to technology to deliver an architecture

- Showing where complex problems have been solved

- Collaboration with multiple agile delivery teams to deliver the required outcome

- Understanding the needs of stakeholders, and identifying technical challenges and changes

- Taking ownership of a problem with no obvious solution

- Using and understanding of a broad range of technologies, tools and processes

- Communicating with stakeholders while having a good grasp on how to negotiate with different parties

Benefits of becoming our Senior Technical Architect:

We offer very competitive terms, conditions, and benefits. We provide excellent opportunities for career progression, training, and development. You will have access to Civil Service pension and benefits arrangements and generous leave allowances, as well as flexible/remote working - exactly what you would expect from a progressive employer.
