An opportunity has arisen for a Commercial Contracts Solicitor to join our Legal team on a fixed term basis. You will provide commercially, pragmatic, efficient and effective legal advice in relation to commercial contracts. You will build and maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders and business partners to help build and embed a legally compliant culture.
What You'll Do
Providing expert and strategic legal advice on a timely basis as required with particular emphasis on advising upon all aspects of commercial contracts and contract, including contract drafting, negotiation, providing advice to key stakeholders and escalating risks in line with internal governance processes. Whilst YBS has a range of suppliers, you will be involved in advising on data protection, outsourcing contracts, IT contracts, cloud services and many more.
You will use your excellent stakeholder management skills as our trusted business partner to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and business partners to embed a legally compliant culture. Working collaboratively with different business areas in an agile way to be the best you can be in your role.
You will be an innovative thinker, someone who is aware of what is happening in the financial services sector and how this may affect our business, customers and our products. You will be someone who is always looking for ways we can improve and engaging with key people across the business and challenging effectively.

The Legal team are currently working from home so you will start your journey with us being home based with some potential travel to our Leeds site with a view to move forward in the future of a balance of home and office working.
How You'll Do It
• A minimum of 4 years' experience (PQE) in commercial contracts.
• Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, and hold a valid practising certificate.
• Understanding of how financial services organisations operate and the associated regulatory environment, including data protection and the European Banking Authority guidelines on outsourcing and associated PRA policy statements
• Utilisation of excellent written and oral communication skills to build and maintain internal and external stakeholder relationships.
• Experience of advising on IT outsourcing and/or share plan contracts would be an advantage, but not essential.
