We are currently recruiting for a Transport Business Manager (covering Europe and the Emerging markets) to join our Global Transport team. The successful candidate can be based anywhere within Western/Central Europe and will need to be able to travel throughout Europe for work. This is a permanent, full time position offering a competitive salary and benefits package including company car/car allowance and company funded private medical cover.

This is an exciting role to grow the sales and profitability of Altro's Transport portfolio of products and services through collaborative partnerships with Bus and Rail vehicle manufacturers, end user operators, designers and consultants.

The role includes the management of five key account managers in Europe and a network of distributors and agents to implement the growth strategy.

As a key member of the Global sales management team reporting to the Commercial Manager - Global Transport, the Transport Business Manager - Europe & Emerging Markets will be responsible for the profitability of the European & Emerging Markets Transport business. They will also be responsible for:

Developing and implementing a strategic focus and plan to develop and grow a sustainable solutions based business, primarily in the Bus & Coach and Rail market sectors with a clear emphasis on the growth of the Altro flooring portfolio of products and services

Integrating and working with the Global Transport management team to deliver and provide focus and strategic input to the Global Transport business. This would include supporting the growth of our Global key account business, our Global project pipeline via our existing resources and also involvement in new product development (NPD).

In addition to customer interface, this role will be accountable for the net profitability of the identified accounts and therefore responsible for the operational co-ordination between production, technical, logistics and the Transport Customer Care Centre (CCC).

What we are looking for???

Education / Experience:

English language (spoken and written) - essential.

Another European language (spoken and written) would be highly desirable.

Graduate calibre with extensive sales experience in a technical/engineering related product/industry, both in the UK and internationally, as well as key account management.

Previous experience of directly managing a sales team.

Technical Skills:

Computer literacy

Relevant market and competition knowledge

Relevant industry knowledge

Relevant product knowledge

Account management experience

Minimum of 3 years on the road experience
