What you will be doing

You will join the team that works well together to provide care to men and women with learning disabilities. Whether you have been a Healthcare assistant or care worker you will utilise your experience to support people to lead a valued and fulfilled life.

It can be quite a challenging environment at times, so a positive attitude, compassion, resilience and vigilance are important. But it is hugely rewarding to see people improve; being able to do something today that they couldn't do last week because of you.

The shift patterns include working nights and weekends, 12 hours a day, 3-4 days a week.

Where you will be working

Location: The Woodhouse, Lockwood Road, Cheadle, Staffordshire ST10 4QU

Working alongside a multidisciplinary team, you'll provide person-centred care for male and female patients with a learning disability/ autism or personality disorder. Gaining experience across low secure and locked rehabilitation environments to support better health and greater independence.

The Woodhouse have recently opened a new 5 bed unit for females with Learning disabilities, they may also have autism or personality disorders.

You'll work in environments ranging from small village cottages, where independent living skills can be developed, to 8 bedded units that facilitate the development of daily living skills. The service values positive risk-taking opportunities within a context of robust risk assessment and management to ensure those we support are kept safe.

The Woodhouse is located near Cheadle in Staffordshire, which is commutable from Derby, Stoke-on-Trent, Uttoxeter and surrounding areas.
