Our client is looking for an experienced Legal Secretary to join their Top 500 law firm at their offices based in Clifton Moor, York. This is a full time permanent role, the client is offering an attractive basic salary, excellent benefits package and a great working environment. Commercial property experience is desirable but not essential.
Job Description
To provide a confidential secretarial and legal service to the department.
To efficiently and promptly deal with word processing and the inputting of correspondence for the department fee earners
To make appointments, arrange meetings and maintain up to date Outlook diaries for the department fee earners
To deal with incoming and outgoing emails, post, correctly differentiating between DX post and Royal Mail post.
To scan, and photocopy documents to required standard.
File Opening - for individuals, partnerships and companies
Deal with payment in of disbursement cheques
Deal with CallML/ID checks in accordance with AML procedure and policy
Plot sales - prepare standard contract and transfer pack
Prepare replies to CPSE Forms
SDLT form completion and Land Registry application
Maintaining filing systems in effective and efficient order
To manage file closures and file administration within timely manner
Preparation of Schedule of Deeds
To deal professionally with clients, colleagues and other professional agencies on the telephone and in person as required.
To accurately record messages and forward these to the appropriate person without delay.
To ensure the confidentiality and security of all the Company's and client's documentation and/or information.
To provide fee earners and clients with refreshments during interviews as required, clearing crockery immediately following interviews.
To attend training/refresher courses and meetings as required by the Department Head
To ensure compliance with all Company policies and procedures
To undertake any other appropriate duties as may be required
