Communication / Engagement Officer
Our client is looking for a Communications / Engagement Officer to join their public sector organisation, initially for 2-3 months but this could lead to extended contracts / longer term opportunities. You will be working with the senior management team to create and deliver an engagement and communications programme for the project. The role would be based remotely due to current government guidelines but will require some face to face meetings in Cornwall.
Package:
* GBP21.13 per hour
* Able to commit to the length of the contract.
* 37 hours a week
* Paring on site

Responsibilities:
* Providing communications for the department and local authority
* Media liaison, press releases and media content.
* Attending and presenting on the programme at various meetings / events
* Raising awareness for business engagement of the programme
* Co-ordination of events
* Internal Communications
* Understanding how local government works and what matters to Members.
* Ensuring the organisation retails a strong brand within all areas of communication to include both internal and external.
* Delivering presentations
* Proactively establishing and maintaining effective working team relationships with all support departments
Requirements:
* Ideally professional qualification within communications / marketing and relevant experience
* Previous experience working in similar role within public sector environment.
* Able to demonstrate solid experience in managing and writing press and media relations.
* Sound editing and copy writing skills.
* Confident using content management systems, social media platforms and digital marketing.
* Public sector experience would be highly advantageous.
* Excellent data analytical skills
* Able to attend meetings in Cornwall as and when required.
