Groundsperson
Our client is a prestigious organisation who are looking to add a Deputy head groundsperson to the team.
You'll already be an experienced groundsperson/greenkeeper/turf manager who has managed and supervised a small team.
The role will include:
* Reporting to and working closely with the Grounds and Facilities Manager
* Organisation and day-to-day supervision of Grounds and Facilities team
* Ensuring that works are carried out to the required standard, on time and on budget
* Carrying out area preparation, grass establishment and turf maintenance in accordance with trial requirements
* Management of turf areas, either under trial management or as part of routine maintenance
* Liaising with individual project staff on turf maintenance requirements and scheduling for specific research trials
* Responsibility for keeping records of turf maintenance carried out, weather, health and safety requirements and maintenance of equipment and infrastructure systems
* Assisting with training and development of the Grounds and Facilities team
The successful candidate must have:
* Qualified to NVQ level 3 in sports turf management or equivalent qualification
* PA1, 2a and PA6 spraying certification are advantageous
* Proven experience of maintaining high level sport surfaces
Hours: 9-5
Monday - Friday
* Experience of managing/supervising staff
* Attention to detail and flexible in how to tackle challenges
* A desire for self-improvement and able to take responsibility for task allocated to them and the team they work within
* Excellent communication and organisational skills with the ability to lead a team and to produce high level standards of sports turf
* Ability to guide and train staff. Support staff carrying out qualification training
* Full UK driving licence
