Seasonal Membership and Adoptions Assistant (Customer Service)
Temporary contract up to 31st December 2021, part time 22.5 hours per week.

We currently have an exciting vacancy for a Seasonal Membership and Adoptions Assistant to join our customer service focused team.
The Role - Seasonal Membership and Adoptions Assistant
* Sell membership and adoptions face to face with customers in a polite and efficient manner in order to meet our annual sales targets.
* Check and secure cash taken through the till (balance/cash up the days takings and secure in safe).
* Process the administration involved in selling membership and adoptions (data input, post, emails, online applications, telephone payments).
* Monitor literature & stock including stationery and adoption images.
* Talk to customers whilst they are queuing for the membership office to answer questions, assist and offer advice.
The ideal candidate for this Seasonal Membership and Adoptions Assistant vacancy will have:
* Experience of working in a fast-paced, customer service environment.
* Good communication skills and confidence taking membership details and payments over the telephone.
* A good standard of education, including a GCSE (or equivalent) in Maths and English.
* Experience of using tills, including cash and credit card transactions.
* Previous customer service, sales and general administration experience.
* Confidence and experience in Microsoft Office and databases.
* Strong organisational skills.
* An eye for detail and accuracy.
* An understanding of GDPR (desirable).
* Knowledge of how the zoo works generally (desirable); working with animal adoptions requires us to have updated knowledge of the species stats so we can answer any customer service queries.
Hours of work are 22.5 hours per week working 6 days out of 14 (including weekends and Bank Holidays) on a rota basis between the hours of 9.00am and 6.30pm.
The salary for this position is GBP8.91 per hour and in addition we offer a range of amazing benefits which can be found on the Chester Zoo careers page.
