We have an exciting new role for a positive and professional individual who enjoys supervising and coaching staff alongside providing great care.

We are seeking an experienced care worker for the role of Team Leader with a strong work ethic who can share our vision of providing a person-centred, strengths-based service which promotes wellbeing, independence and community connections. You will lead the provision of care for a defined group of service users and staff working in our busy, locality-based home care service in the Droylsden area of Tameside, close to Manchester and Ashton-under-Lyne.

You will ensure that the care and support delivered is truly personalised and provided in accordance with agreed care plans, enabling the achievement of planned outcomes. In addition to providing direct care you will be responsible for:

  • Quality visits to service user homes in the Droylsden area to assess their satisfaction and the quality of service provision
  • Medication compliance checks
  • Audits of care records in the home and office
  • Direct observations of staff practice
  • Staff supervision and appraisals
  • Induction and coaching of staff
  • Taking part in service user reviews
  • Following up any concerns and reinforcing good practice
  • Promoting excellent customer care to your service users, their families and other stakeholders
  • Ensuring that we provide reliable, consistent, high quality care which meets internal, commissioner and CQC quality standards

The Team Leader must have prior experience of managing or coordinating care and support services for older people, gained in a home care or residential environment. You will be able to lead from the front and delegate effectively as well as working collaboratively with colleagues and contributing to a positive team atmosphere.

You will be a warm and kind person with the ability to build trusting, professional relationships with service users, their families, staff and partner agencies. As Team Leader you are also a role model for the people you supervise and will be able to gain the respect of colleagues. You will support our commitment to creating an open, reflective and accountable culture which is underpinned by ethical practice, dignity and rights.

You will demonstrate good verbal and written communication skills. You must be reliable, well-organised and able to plan your own work as well as taking direction from the Registered Manager. As you will be providing direct care and support, including personal care, you must enjoy good health and be able to safely undertake moving and handling. You will have an understanding of the principles of person-centred care and possess a relevant qualification (such as an NVQ or Health & Social Care Diploma).

As this position involves travel across the Droylsden and wider Tameside locality you must be a car owner/driver You will be expected to work flexibly according to the needs of the service and this will include evening and weekend working, including participating in an out of hours on-call rota, for which additional payments are made.
