FABRICATION TECHNICIAN
Shifts- 4 days on 4 days off
Hours- 2pm-12am
JOB DESCRIPTION
This is a generalist sheet metal fabrication role, working a non-standard work pattern. The role primarily requires being able to carry out sheet metal fabrication preparation processes. The primary aim is to ensure metal components are in the best condition before being handed on to the powder coat paint department. The individual needs to ensure timelines are met and manage their workflow effectively with minimal supervision.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Ensuring metal components are clean and scratch free
* The pre-preparation of welded components (Dual action sanding, edge cleaning, etc.)
* Work in a fast-paced environment with fast changing priorities.
* Keep work area clean and organised.
* Provide a great level of attention to detail and focus on the given task.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
* Carry out a variety of fabrication processes whilst laser programmes run, such a preparation, folding, cutting, and washing cut metal for the paint team.
* Loading, unloading, and operating the automated washers
* Work within all company health and safety policies
* Provide clear and succinct handover between shifts
* Communicate in a positive manner with team members

PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES
This role would suit an individual able to work the non-standard work pattern of 36 hours per week, 4 days on 3 days off (FRI-MON). The individual needs to be confident to work and manage workload independently and provide clear handover instructions to the next shift. Due to the hours worked, the role requires a trustworthy individual who can problem-solve and troubleshoot independently in relation to their primary responsibilities.
REQUIREMENTS
* Solid background of working in sheet metal
* Knowledge of materials, ability to distinguish types
* Powder coat painting experience beneficial but not necessary
* Welding experience beneficial but not necessary
