Do you want to help make the world a better place for children? Viva is seeking an intern keen to blend their excellent communication and IT skills with their Christian faith in a unique year-long opportunity within the international development sector.

As our Research Development Intern you will work closely with our International Programme Manager to create tools and resources that will be used to drive child protection work all over the world. You will support Viva’s international Network Development Team to maximise the impact of programmes run by our partner networks.

A large part of the role will involve adapting existing programme materials and uploading them onto our brand-new Learning Management System so they can easily be accessed by our global partners. You will also have the opportunity to learn from international colleagues about the programmes they have developed and why they are effective.

For this role, you will need excellent written communication skills and the ability to present work creatively, including through the use of videos, infographics and images. You will have a secure understanding of the Christian faith and be ready to engage with and write biblically based materials for our target audience of churches and Christian faith-based organisations.

You will be a team player, yet able to work independently, be confident with a variety of computer programmes and you should be a fast learner and happy to take up a variety of tasks. You will need to be educated to degree level or working towards completion of degree or other equivalent level qualification.

Lucy, our current intern, says, “This internship offers a fantastic opportunity to commit time to helping protect children, whilst also investing time in developing your own skills and knowledge alongside the amazing Viva team. I have really enjoyed this year whilst learning so much, and am so glad I’ve had the chance to contribute to the vital work of this charity.”

Are you up for committing a year to a charity that is changing children’s lives around the world? We would love to hear from you.

To apply, please click on the 'Apply' button for full application details. The closing date for applications is midnight on Wednesday 30 June 2021. Interviews will be held on Tuesday 13 July 2021.

This is a part-time position for one year based at our office in Oxford (with the option of part-office, part-home working). The salary will be the National Minimum Wage or National Living Wage (the rate of pay will be at the relevant statutory minimum level).
