PLC Software Engineer

PLC Software Engineer required. My client is a market leader in the Design and Manufacture of Energy solutions that exports globally and is looking for an PLC Software Engineer to join their team in sheffield. The role would suit a PLC Software Engineer looking for a new challenge with a company that can offer a long term opportunity for growth and development.

PLC Software Engineer Position Overview

Programming PLC and HMI devices for bespoke Energy management solutions
Configuring all third part device to ensure successful and effective communication
Clarifying features and functionality with both Electrical and Hardware teams
Occasional travel for on-site troubleshooting and field upgrades
Providing Technical support to the Manufacturing department as well as end line customers

PLC Software Engineer Position Requirements

Degree qualified in either Electrical Engineer or Software Engineering
Previous experience in a software development role
Solid knowledge and experience in at least 1 of the following languages (C, C++, Java, C#, Python, Structured Text and BASIC)
Knowledge and skills in TCP/IP Networking
Solid understanding of the RS485 standard, PLC / HMI systems and Modbus TCP and RTU
Able to read and interpret Electrical schematics
Full UK Driving Licence
Based within a commutable distance of Sheffield

PLC Software Engineer Position Remuneration

Salary GBP35,000 - GBP40,000 DOE
Overtime available
Company bonus scheme
Full time Monday to Friday 39 hours a week
28 Days holiday inclusive of Bank holidays
