SENIOR ELECTRONICS ENGINEER
BASED INVERKEITHING WITH FLEXIBLE HOME WORKING

Their leading edge indoor vertical farming towers allow IGS to control the weather and grow a range of plants, crops, fruit and herbs simultaneously at optimum conditions anywhere in the world.
Employing over 60 staff between a demonstrator facility in Dundee and offices in Edinburgh, this business is set for rapid growth worldwide. They are about to launch a new engineering centre in Inverkeithing (Fife). As part of a planned ramp up we now need to recruit a Senior Electronics Engineer.
Reporting into the Head of Hardware, the Senior Electronics Engineer will help lead the development of next generation lighting, controls and associated instrumentation. The person will be responsible for the whole product lifecycle from requirements definition, through proof of concept, design and validation and manufacturing verification activity. Key responsibilities include:
Developing system architecture, electronic specificationsand validation documents
Workingcollaboratively with internal and external teams to create reliable, manufacturable, cost effective solutions.
Supervise and mentoringjunior staff.
Validating and overseeing board bring up activity.
Prepare forelectronic design review and safety peer review.
Select third party, generate scope of work and overseecontractors and consultants.
Staying abreast of electronic trends, components and manufacturing processes
Contributing to roadmap of future technology
Ensure products meet regulatory safety and environmental requirements.
From initial proof of concept, through NPI tofull production oversight
Expert advisor on fault identification and root cause analysis
Educated to degree calibre in Electrical / Electronic Engineering, you are a proven electronics product engineer. We would be especially keen to hear from candidates who have worked in defence electronics, PCB design, equipment or instrumentation design or space/aerospace. The ideal candidate has demonstrable ability in designing and simulating mixed signal AC/DC circuits, ideally with experience of three phase power, previous experience of testing sub-systems and circuit board level, experience in electronic configuration management, familiarity with layout design constraints, IPC performance specifications and other manufacturing requirements for printed circuit boards and prior use of schematic capture Altium, or Cadence for example
