Senior Manufacturing Support Engineer - Electronics

GBP45,000 - GBP55, 000 + Bonus
We are partnered with a leading IoT company based near Cambridge who are shaping the way for the future city with their advanced wireless technology. Continued growth has led to them requiring a Senior Manufacturing Support Engineer to join a growing team. The Senior Manufacturing Support Engineer must be comfortable conducting automated testing, reporting/documenting results of the tests and feeding back to various teams such as design and manufacturing teams alongside supporting the supply chain as required.
Please note that it is you must have extensive technical experience of working with wireless products to be considered for this role. The successful candidate will be an experienced Senior / Manufacturing Support Engineer, with excellent specification management, test development, and technical troubleshooting skills.
KEY REPSONSIBILITIES
The Senior Manufacturing Support Engineer, is responsible for ensuring that production keeps running, and the product is manufactured correctly. This includes:
Controlling manufacturing test specifications, tests and compliance
Defining production test specifications (incl. test limits).
Ownership and support of production test sequences (including commissioning, debug, upgrade)
Ownership and support of test racks (including calibration, debug, modification, repair)
Production quality Analysis
Monitoring pass/fail rates and investigating common failures with a view to driving up production quality.
Controlling document management including concessions, change notes and defect notes.
New Product Introduction
Process development
New product introduction, incl. on-site support during pilot builds.
Input into project planning
Advising on improvements (e.g. for easier assembly / lower cost)
Supporting supply chain
PERSON SPECIFICTION
Strong working experience in Electronics testing, utilising testing suites such as LabVIEW or similar.
Experience of wireless products and/or knowledge of RF measurement techniques
An Electronics degree or similar qualification, (i.e. HNC or HND will be considered)
Production test specification experience
Production test development experience (Automated)
Knowledge of DFM and NPI
Manufacturing documentation management and control
BOM & build standard management and control
Familiarity with test equipment and measurement techniques
Proficient in the use of MS office applications
Strong communicator who is comfortable liaising with multiple teams and departments.
