Norfolk Wildlife Trust is the county's largest environmental charity, working for the protection and enhancement of Norfolk's wildlife and wild places.
Senior Education Officer (maternity cover)
GBP28,000 - GBP30,000 pa, pro rata
We are seeking a highly motivated, organised and enthusiastic environmental educator with experience of leading and developing outdoor education activities to cover maternity leave, working 35 hours per week, for a fixed term starting August 2021. You will have strong organisational skills and line management experience, coupled with a creative flair and proven commitment to education for sustainability. A good understanding of Norfolk's wildlife and habitats is important.
The successful candidate will have significant experience in, and knowledge of, environmental education and engagement and the ability to communicate with a wide audience. You will be able to deliver and develop national curriculum linked activities for schools and also work with early years to university age students (including guided walks, fieldwork and outreach) and will organise and deliver informal activities for families. This role also involves developing, delivering and managing externally funded education and engagement projects for young people and families.
As well as being involved in management of staff and volunteers, you will be required to deliver activities at NWT reserves, community and school locations across Norfolk. You will work effectively with external partners and organisations and develop a positive and productive relationship with the NWT Engagement Team and wider colleagues.
The role is based in Norwich but you should be flexible in working practice to accommodate any further covid restrictions and homeworking if required.
