It luggage was formed in 1985 and since its inception has been focused on designing new and innovative luggage products with features that consumers need.
From the early 1990's the company has been at the forefront of luggage design, pioneering the growth of hard-shell luggage, inventing the first expandable hard case. It has many patents on its innovations including the "world's lightest" collection, which since its launch in 2008 has achieved record breaking sales in stores worldwide.
The group headquarters are in Hertford. It operates internationally, with offices in China and subsidiaries in Hong Kong, USA and Europe.
MAIN PURPOSE
Has responsibility for the Management of & day to day buying requirements of the Department.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF JOB

- Lead the Procurement team, monitoring and managing a large workload at any one time.
- Approving & devising strategies for daily negotiations with colleagues in China office
- Maintain, Manage & Improve the Established Relationship with colleagues in China office
- Implementing and maintaining processes, systems & email filing to improve the efficiency
- Maintaining & implementing a record of data the team need to negotiate effectively
- Reviewing suppliers' reliability & quality performance in alliance with colleagues in China office
- Dealing with QC issues that China office cannot decide on
- Ensuring Purchase Orders are sent out in a timely and accurate manner.
- Always ensuring full adherence to the Master Supplier Agreements
- Overseeing the checking of samples and swatches to ensure products we ship meet the negotiated-quality standards.
- Ensure smooth & effective communication with Board of Directors
- To attend China market, trade fair, Factory visits as required

- Ability to manage, motivate and coach a team.
- Proven successful track record within a buying-procurement/product environment.
- Highly organised, methodical with excellent attention to detail
- Ability to analyse information quickly and to work under pressure.
- Thrives in a fast-moving environment and enjoys new challenges
- Exceptional negotiation, influencing and analytical skills
- High level mathematics/numeracy skills (including A-level maths or equivalent) and the ability to do complex mathematical calculations & equations, including profit margin & currency conversion
- Highly motivated, with a positive flexible approach and outlook
- Possess excellent PC skills - proficiency in Excel and Outlook are essential
- CIPS qualified or part qualified
- Experience of dealing with Far East suppliers and understanding the politics and culture involved would be a distinct advantage
