Ground Worker

We are looking for an experienced Ground Maintenance Operative for an immediate start, to carry out Cemetery ground work. The position will initially be for 4 weeks minimum but may extend for the right applicants.

Job Role:

We have a position available for Cemetery Operatives to join the team delivering high standards of horticultural maintenance in the Council's cemeteries. Duties include carrying out the maintenance of grass areas, shrub borders, hedges and flower beds and keeping grave areas tidy.

Applicants:

We are looking for an enthusiastic and hard working person to join the cemeteries team. You must possess a full driver's licence and have experience working as a gardener, landscaper or ground maintenance. Ideally you would have experience working in a similar industry, have a willingness to learn and have a sensitive attitude due to the nature of the job.

The successful applicant must be prepared to work outdoors in all weathers and enjoy working as part of a team, be flexible regarding work schedule and cover maintenance across 4 cemeteries. You should have good communication skills as the role requires interaction with other funeral and cemetery staff. You will have a caring and compassionate nature for dealing with bereaved relatives and the general public.

Hours:

Mon - Thurs 8am - 4pm
Friday 8am - 3.30

Rate of Pay GBP10.21 per hour
