WORKING DAY AND HOURS
4on, 4off, Days & Nights, 6am-pm / 6pm-6am - flexibility required
ROLE PURPOSE
Leading a team of Line Operators in the Bakery, you will have the responsibility and accountability for the Health & Safety, Performance, Development and Welfare of each individual within that team.
You will report directly to the Shift Operations Manager to support the manufacturing of our quality bakery products. You will ensure that all Company policies, procedures, guidelines, rules and regulations are monitored and upheld. In addition, the role requires you to understand and promote a culture of positive engagement, decision-sharing, with a focus on delivering a robust team ethos.
Full compliance with the prescribed Health and Safety and Environmental standards as well as the required legal requirements is an absolute necessity.
To do this, you will take the lead in supporting, maintaining and communicating the Company values through your own example. Your behaviour is paramount in encouraging the right behaviours in others.
The role requires a consistent, challenging and focussed drive toward improvements in performance through understanding and communicating Key Performance Indicators. You will be required to understand and communicate the status of performance and achievement of your lines throughout the shift, whilst maintaining continuous improvement.
KNOWLEDGE & UNDERSTANDING
* You will have a background in a supervisory or management role and effectively display proactive responsibility and accountability characteristics
* You will take the lead in managing, motivating and directing the production workforce through their daily roles. You work well with people and understand their skills, whilst adapting to their learning style to support their development needs. You will be developing a high performing Production Team to ensure they have the skills, competence and knowledge to help our business succeed. You will need to be comfortable in leading change, a team builder who inspires people to perform at their best and recognises the value in developing in all areas.
* You have experience in being able to challenge constructively in order to ensure the bakery lines run to the optimum level. Identify improvement opportunities and priorities in line with the site strategy to deliver sustainable results.
* Experience in production or manufacturing, preferably in the bakery sector or food manufacturing environment. Report on the maintenance and servicing of production equipment that minimises any downtime. Plan and anticipate future challenges, providing solutions as needed to meet production schedules.
* Support in the investigation of customer complaints with the technical Team. Promote high levels of hygiene in all departments and promote a clean as you go culture.
* You understand and take full responsibility for the completion of all required tasks in a timely and accurate manner, including technical documentation, performance monitoring and formal action, when required.
* You will have the opportunity to actively work with other operational colleagues and professionals to increase knowledge and to ensure best practices and learning are shared to promote consistency of working.
QUALIFICATIONS
* Food Hygiene and Food Safety qualification HACCP
* Health and Safety qualification (NEBOSH / IOSH)
* Experience in ERP systems (SAP or equivalent)
* You have experience in challenging environments and have experience in dealing with and resolving fast-paced issues.
* Must be computer literate (Excel/MS office/outlook etc.)
