Safeguarding Officer
Salary: Grade E (23,541- £25,991), full time 37.5 hours per week.
Start Date: September 2021, or earlier.
We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Safeguarding Officer to join our Safeguarding Team for September 2021, or earlier.
At Marine Academy we are determined to help children succeed irrespective of background. We are looking for a passionate and knowledgeable Safeguarding Lead to work as part of a large pastoral team, providing support and ensuring effective safeguarding mechanisms are in place for every child. You will work under the oversight of the Designated Safeguarding Lead, and Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead and you will have your own administrative and pastoral support worker who you will line manage.
The role will require flexibility and you will need to be comfortable and have experience of working with children, families and external agencies, including but not limited to Social Services, Police, and Youth Workers.
This is a grade E, full time, year round, position (£23,541-£25,991), working 8.30am-4.30pm, Monday to Friday. However, there is a degree of flexibility required in these arrangements both in and out of term time. We encourage applications from people who have experience of safeguarding young people and working with external agencies, even if this has not been specifically in a school environment.
We are delighted to be part of The Ted Wragg Multi Academy Trust - a values driven, rapidly growing Trust with a relentless focus on transforming lives through learning by delivering outstanding outcomes for every student, regardless of background. With a reputation for highly successful school improvement in very challenging circumstances, we are passionate about driving up standards and raising the aspirations of all our students.
Marine Academy Plymouth are committed to safeguarding children in its care; any successful appointment is subject to a satisfactory DBS check. This role requires the ability to fulfil all spoken aspects of the role with confidence and fluency in English. The Trust is committed to ensuring that our employees are able to achieve their full potential in an environment offering dignity, respect and equality of opportunity.
We would encourage you to arrange a visit to the school so you can see just how amazing our students are- please contact Michelle Samuel at michelle.samuel@marineacademy.org.uk
