Role overview

Play a key role in the smooth operation of the established centralised accounts team throughout the month with a particular focus on month end processes. To ensure complete, accurate and timely processing of monthly management accounts.

To recommend and develop process improvements to enhance financial operations and systems contributing to the development of an improved finance function across the JLA Group.

Key tasks

* To assist in the preparation of timely and accurate monthly management accounts and reports

* To prepare month-end balance sheet reconciliations and control accounts

* Analyse monthly overheads to understand and interrogate numbers, liaising with Business Partners.

* Supporting more senior accounting members with various tasks

* Ensure the accuracy and integrity of the accounting records and financial systems

* Reconcile intercompany transactions and balances

* Daily checking of bank accounts and cashbook posting across multi company ledgers

* Maintain petty cash

* Challenge current processes to adopt best practice

* Complete and submit National Statistics

* Adhere to internal controls and processes across the group

* Ad-hoc duties as required

What we require

* Management accounts experience with a professional accounting qualification and related professional experience/Practice background.

* Experience working in a fast paced team work environment

* Ability to communicate within the company, across functions at all levels and with confidence

* Ability to adapt to changing business requirements

* Able to learn and process new information as well as engaging with all members of the team

* Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel

* Experienced with working directly with other teams at all levels to ensure financial accuracy

* Ability to prioritise workload effectively to meet business requirements

* Demonstrable planning and organisational skills with the ability to plan and manage workload effectively around business needs

* A determination for high standards and accuracy, with good attention to detail

* Able to communicate effectively with team members and other teams in the business
