Paralegal
We are looking for a Paralegal to join a small, in-house Legal team within a large, well-established organisation in Swindon. The role will offer great hands-on experience within an in-house legal team and would be a brilliant step for somebody seeking a training contract in the future. We are keen to hear from candidates who have experience as a Paralegal, Legal Administrator or Legal Assistant or who are a Law Graduate with office-based experience. A theoretical knowledge of Contract Law is required, as a minimum, and practical knowledge would be a distinct advantage. The successful candidate will assist another Paralegal with all aspect of Legal Administration relating to contracts, in support of three Solicitors.
The Paralegal will:
Support the Head of Legal and a team of Solicitorswith a range of Legal Admin tasks
Provide information on the legal engagement process that must be followed by employees
Assist with updating the legal workflow database
Update stakeholders on the status of enquiries
Issue legal contracts, update a range of central logs and assist with Companies House registrations
Draft simple legal documents, such as letters and variation agreements, under supervision
Liaise with stakeholders, clients and suppliers
Assist with research into a variety of projects related to the Legal department. To be considered for the Paralegal position, you will:
Have a Law degree or a minimum of 12 months experience in a Paralegal role
Ideally have either an LPC or CILEX qualification
Have theoretical knowledge of contract law, as a minimum
Have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Be confident working under pressure to very tight deadlines
Have excellent attention to detail with the ability to proofread effectively
Have knowledge/ experience of using DocuSign or JIRA (desirable, not essential) The company???
