An award-winning, family-owned, specialist engineering company is looking for an experienced 3D, 2D CAD Design Engineer to join its team based in Downham Market. Working from a purpose-built open plan office with scenic views you will also enjoy a 2pm finish every other Friday and a shutdown period across Christmas and new year.
As a CAD Design Engineer you will be working in a small in-house technical draughtsman design team that supports existing and group-wide clients on projects in the UK and Europe. The company has schemes and technology to ensure they are environmentally friendly while reducing their carbon footprint.

In return, you will receive a salary ofGBP25,000 - GBP29,000 pa dependant on your skills and experience plus pension scheme and life insurance.Future training will be given, as required, alongside helping the company streamline and develop the in-house 3D mechanical solid modelling systems.
Your usual working week is Monday to Friday 8.30 till 5 with an hour for lunch. You have the option of finishing at 2pm every other Friday by doing 3 extra hours in the days leading up to it.

- Using an Autodesk Inventor suite to create project-specific models and derived 2d production drawings.
- Following a project by receiving the quote package then building the 3D model using Inventor.
- Generating annotated 2D production drawings from the model ready for manufacture.
- Using your engineering / draughtsperson experience to amend drawings as needed through the process, ensuring they are up to date and to specification.
- Liaising with the customer, suppliers, and colleagues throughout the project.
The successful CAD Design Engineer will have the following skills and experience:
- HNC level engineering qualification, related qualifications or accrued experience.
- Experience in using 3D software such as Inventor or SolidWorks.
- An experienced 3D, 2D CAD designer with an engineering background
- A keen interest in seeing a project through from inception to completion.
