Test Engineer based in Bradford

About the role

In joining our client's Test Engineering team, you will be working to implement a system's engineering approach to deliver end-to-end integrated project and products for their business division. This will include completing B2B service testing in line with approved test practices and methods, providing validation uniformity across projects and contributing to the management of a well-co-ordinated 'release' process for new developments.

In addition, you will support the Test Manager in providing integration and testing resource forecasts and look to improve the quality of projects by consistently enforcing the Validation processes.

Our client is currently looking for a new recruit in join their Test Engineer team, please read on! You can also ask our friendly recruitment team any questions you may have about the role, between 8:30am-5:00pm Monday to Friday.

This is a fantastic opportunity to support the profitable growth of our client's business in line with long range plan (LRP) targets by providing high quality support.

Working with relevant departments and parties to investigate problems and seek resolutions where appropriate you'll identify and assist in the development of processes within your areas of responsibility in order to achieve efficiency benefits.

Shifts: Monday to Friday (9.00am - 5:30pm)

The must haves:

• Ideally an HNC or equivalent qualification in a relevant engineering or associated subject area.
• Proven experience in an engineering or operational role with either a Service Provider, telecoms equipment supplier/vendor or in a technology consultancy.
• Preparation and execution of documentation, test scripts for software testing, integration, functional and non functional testing.
• Proven knowledge of IP Router and Data switch networks.
• Experience with VOIP Platforms.

Good technical appreciation of the following:

• Basic electrical installation (16th / 17th edition qualified)
• Cisco routers and switches
• Juniper routers and switches
• Alcatel routers and switches
• Operating systems:- Windows, Linux, Unix and Solaris
• Oracle Communications IP service Activator (IPSA)
• Ixia Test Generator inc. Ixload IxNetwork
• IPVPN, Ethernet, IPMM and Business interconnect products.
