School Surveyor required for a fantastic contract based in Worcester

The Role

The delivery of a full estate management service across the Council's assets with a specific focus on the Schools and Academy portfolio and Children's Centres. Tasks to include rent reviews, lease renewals, licence renewals, assignment and sub-let, alterations and working with the FM team on compliance matters.
Management and response to school relating enquiries which come through from the general public, service lead's and other council departments. To investigate enquiries fully and ensure both the enquirer and service lead are updated on progress.
Management of Caretakers properties, including associated Lease and Licence Renewals. Liaison with the FM team to ensure compliance.
Liaison with relevant service heads to provide the operational delivery of the council's school related aims and objectives in relevant plans and strategies.
The actioning of Academy Transfers and adherence with timescales as set out by the DfE.
The actioning of Diocese Transfers which may occur as a result of an impending Academy Transfer.
The actioning of Corporate Landlord consent cases. Liaison with the relevant service lead in relation to applications for landlord's consent for improvements. Close liaison with external contractors, building surveyors and project managers to ensure that all relevant consents are provided and changes are approved and documented accordingly.
Where necessary, work in collaboration with the Strategic Asset Manager to deliver the projects identified within the Strategic Asset Management Plan
Keep up to date on current and changing legislation and advise and implement any measures affecting the management of the Councils schools estate
Provide estate management advice to Directorates regarding estate management implications on transformation plans and generally across their schools estate supporting them and Strategic Asset Management business case development.
Provide advice on lease structures for commissioned services using council assets to maximise use, protect the Council's interests and limit liabilities.
Collaboration and support the Head of Operations team (Facilities Management and Project management) to ensure that overall property management is provided to meet the Council's requirements.
Develop and maintain good working relationships with our range of key stakeholders including statutory partners, service providers, voluntary section and customers.

The Requirements

Experience in in delivering a full estate management service, including lease management and compliance.
Experience in contributing to property related plans and strategies
Experience of reviewing the performance of property assets and recommending and actioning approved changes
Experience in working in a local authority or comparable public sector environment managing a diverse estate of land and property
Demonstrable skills and experience in landlord and tenant management
Experience in working closely with a range of people, teams and stakeholders to deliver tangible outcomes
Demonstrable skills in providing excellent customer service
Demonstrable skills in time management and managing tasks effectively
Evidence and experience of interpreting data into a comprehensive report format
A level 6 qualification (e.g. degree) or equivalent senior professional level experience
Evidence of continuing professional development
Full UK Driving Licence
It is desirable that the post holder has: MRICS accreditation , Local Authority experience, Schools specific experience
