BASIC SALARY: Up to GBP40,000

LOCATION: Birmingham

COMMUTABLE LOCATIONS: Based at our Birmingham site you could commute from: Coventry, Solihull, Nuneaton, Leamington Spa, Redditch, Bromsgrove, Kidderminster, Wolverhampton, Cannock, Tamworth, Lichfield, Burton upon Trent, Stafford, Telford, Rugby.

This is a great opportunity to consolidate your Maintenance Engineer skills with a world leader in the application of specialist coatings and treatments.

You'll be working in a clean, safe environment and you'll own the hands-on routine maintenance and emergency breakdowns of a huge variety of state-of-the-art vacuum and heat treatment equipment.

Just some of your duties will include:

?? PLC fault finding, test and repair.
?? Thermocoupling repair, test and replacement.
?? Ownership of the PPM programme, making sure that equipment breakdowns are minimized and the operation is as efficient as it can be.
?? Control of the spares stock including the negotiation of supplier agreements and making sure there always the right amount of equipment and consumables available.
?? Mentoring the current Maintenance Engineer providing leadership and technical guidance.
?? Maintaining the highest levels of Health & Safety at all times.

Above all, you will be getting your sleeves rolled up, keeping our equipment working optimally, diagnosing faults, repairing or replacing parts and generally managing the up-keep of everything.

As our Maintenance Engineer you MUST have an electrical or mechanical maintenance or engineering track record, ideally from Vacuum Systems, Heat Treatment, Automotive, Aerospace or Oil & Gas, but other industrial / engineering experience would be acceptable.

You will also:
?? Ideally have some working knowledge of vacuum systems or heat treatment furnaces.
?? Be able to interpret electrical drawings.
?? Show strong diagnostic and problem solving skills.
?? Have experience of driving a forklift truck.

Hours will be Monday to Friday 7.30 ish to 3.30 ish depending on workload and you will be expected to be on-call in case things go wrong of an evening - but you'll only get called once or twice a month and we'll make sure your time comes back to you.
