To champion the quality of products and ensure that quality and technical procedures are being followed. Ensuring that quality, integrity, legalities, food safety and health & safety procedures are followed and maintained at all times.
The role will be both factory and office-based and responsibility will include the following:
* Keeping the Supplier Approval Data Base up to date.
* Assisting the Technical Manager in writing Raw Material specifications.
* Working with the Technical Manager to ensure all suppliers meet approval requirements and escalate where potential supply risks exist.
* Ensure that all ingredients used both in full scale production and new product development comply to customer requirements.
* Assisting as a QA Assistant where required.
* Ensuring that all operational processes are maintained in line with our BRC and Site Certifications as well as food safety manufacturing standards being adhered to.
* Assist in the maintenance of site traceability records.
* To review and update documentation and procedures as instructed by the Technical Manager.
* General Admin duties
* Liaising with various other departments to facilitate an efficient work flow.
* Complete all relevant paperwork accurately and clearly.
Experience and Attributes
* Previous experience working within a Technical role within food manufacturing is essential.
* Understanding of internal and customer specifications.
* Understanding of BRC global standards, HACCP and Food Safety Quality Management Systems
* Excellent communication skills and able to communicate at all levels.
* A strong passion for quality and technical with ambitions for continuous improvements and promoting a positive food safety culture.
* Able to work well within a team but also stand alone and be a self-motivated individual who is confident, flexible and proactive and can work well under pressure and to target deadlines.
