Learning Mentor ~ Behaviour Specialist ~ Immediate Start
Are you an experienced Learning Mentor looking for a new challenge? Do you want the opportunity to enrich the lives of troubled children? Can you engage children from disadvantaged backgrounds with severe behavioural difficulties?
A PRU / Pupil Referral Unit are desperately seeking a positive, enthusiastic Learning Mentor with exceptional behaviour management skills. Working in the heart of Torbay, you will be working alongside dedicated and highly experienced and capable staff who are passionate about enriching the lives of their children. In a modern, well-established and purpose-built school you will have the opportunity to learn and grow alongside staff who have worked in the school for over 15 years. You will be supported, well paid and highly valued as a member of the team.
The PRU / Pupil Referral Unit is based in Paignton and offers an alternative curriculum to students aged 11 - 16 who have been permanently excluded from mainstream education. The role presents extremely challenging behaviour, sometimes volatile, so you will need to be resilient, adaptable, a quick-thinker and able to work under your own guidance.
As a Learning Mentor, it is essential that you have the following:
A good standard of education and can identify areas of improvement required when working on a 1:1 basis
You need to have the desire to help pupils overcome barriers and achieve the best results
You will be supporting across a range of vocational courses, such as Construction, Engineering, Mechanics, Hospitality and Outdoor Education activities
The roles available are all 5 days per week - structure and continuity are key in supporting these children.
All our staff are paid on a PAYE basis, so you can rest assured that you're paying the right level of Tax and National Insurance.
