Due to business growth and an increasing level of business opportunities coming through the tender route, our client is looking for an experienced Bid Manager.

The company is looking for someone who can demonstrate becoming conversant with a new industry quickly and driving quality in all responses. The successful candidate will be commercially minded, flexible and open to changing priorities and managing multiple tasks simultaneously within compressed timeframes.

Bid Manager Responsibilities:

  • Manages the bid qualification (bid/no bid) process for new opportunities
  • Proactively finding relevant tenders on Heat Networks including identification of frameworks
  • Scheduling and running bid kick-off meetings
  • Coordinating proposal governance and sign-off - using best practice bid procedures & processes
  • Managing bid teams and inputs from a variety of stakeholders, typically involving contributions from sales, marketing, product teams, finance, commercial, legal and operations
  • Organising and improving the whole process from tender library to submission
  • Introduction and management of a sharepoint/Jira system for tender management
  • Identifying existing and re-working existing pre-written content where relevant, managing the bid library
  • Editing responses from a variety of stakeholders
  • Ensure documents follow standard formatting and quality standards
  • Preparing and reviewing the commercial aspects of the bid, ensuring all services are included in the final price to the customer
  • Risk tracking and management throughout the bid process
  • Delivering and ensuring timely delivery of compliant and commercially sound bids
  • Arranging clarifications, post submission interviews and contract liaison on award
  • Post submission handing tenders over to Business As Usual

Bid Manager Requirements:

  • 3+ years bid management experience
  • Proven capability in delivering winning, high value products or complex service opportunities
  • Experience of bid campaign management from opportunity identification through to project delivery
  • Provision of valuable input into opportunity qualification, win strategies, commercial discussions and solution design
  • Comfortable working at CEO/Director level
  • Communicating and influencing at a senior level
  • Organised and diligent approach to managing bids
  • Fully conversant with marketplace or evidence of becoming so in a new industry quickly
  • Sound commercial understanding and risk management skills
  • Attention to detail demonstrated
  • Solid understanding and implementation of internal governance procedures
