An Accountant opportunity has become available for one of the world's leading manufacturers of off-highway machinery and diesel and natural gas engines.

Responsibilities vary, but are not limited to:

• Reviews Balance sheet reconciliations according to stated Accounting policies.
• Reviews journal US GAAP entries according to stated Accounting policies relating to the appropriate recording of transactions.
• Reviews and approves Banking payment requests in accordance with the company policy with regard to payment authorities.
• Participates in accomplishment of continuous improvement objectives for the department. Participates in the identification of problem areas and development of resolutions to address them.
• Participation in ad hoc project type or specific requests relating to Finance function tasks as required.
• Reviews work of staff, gives feedback to employees to achieve continuous improvement, applies HR practices and policies, and creates a work environment in the department that encourages employee satisfaction and increases productivity.
• Understands the Equal Opportunity and Harassment policies of the company, applies them in all aspects of management and maintains an environment, which is consistent with these policies.

Skills, abilities and knowledge:

• Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to use accounting software including Oracle and Business Intelligence.
• Demonstrated knowledge of US GAAP.
• Demonstrated knowledge of lease and "foreign currency" accounting.
• Accurate and timely financial reporting, internally and externally.
• Maintain procedures and controls to protect the assets of the company.
• Managing, coaching and development of staff.
• Foster high quality standards driven by company objectives and a strong motivation for continuous improvement.
• Assist in maintaining an environment conducive to collaboration across business units and job functions.
• Confident user of Microsoft programs including Excel, Word, Powerpoint and Outlook.

Skills and qualifications you will have:

• ACA/ACCA/CIMA Qualified.
• Experience demonstrating leadership in a Finance environment.
