Represent Police as a first point of contact for members of the public, this will include giving and receiving information, dealing with enquiries and complaints and offering advice and guidance as appropriate. Undertake general clerical and support duties in order to ensure the provision of an efficient, effective and timely service.
Represent Police as a direct point of contact for members of the public, providing excellent customer service, dynamically risk assessing and dealing with unpredictable enquiries and complaints, giving and receiving information, offering advice and guidance as appropriate, with integrity and professionalism. Undertake general office and support duties in order to ensure the provision of an efficient, effective and timely service, maintaining confidentiality, data protection and disclosure protocols.
This is a one-year contract based on an average of 38 working hours per week with seven-day working with shifts rotating over a 7-week pattern.
Vetting level:
The candidate must be security cleared to Police's security vetting process.
Responsibilities
Receive visitors to the Public Enquiry Office located in Gillingham or at the Contact Point in Rainham, providing excellent customer service to deal with all enquiries including providing advice, information and guidance on crime and other matters as appropriate, and ensuring that those requiring entry to the station or premises have the relevant checks made and passes issued in line with current security measures.
Essential Qualifications/Skills
The post holder must demonstrate excellent customer service experience preferably in the Police or a partner agency and have experience of working with people in emergency or stressful conditions. The post holder should demonstrate emotional intelligence, maturity and integrity in order to deliver a first-class service directly to members of the public.
Dynamic risk management coupled with the ability to think quickly under pressure is required to deal with the unpredictable nature of people and incidents. They must be able to collect and disseminate information accurately and be able to assess priorities and make best use of resources
