World Class Defence Organisation based in Stevenage, Hertfordshire (The role will be 30% Working From Home and 70% Onsite) is currently looking to recruit a Security Vetting Support Officer / Security Controller Subcontractor on an initial 12 month contract.
Contract Duration: 12 Months (initially and then ongoing thereafter)
Hourly Rate: The Company are offering excellent rates
Security Information: Please Note you must be eligible for SC Security Clearance (unfortunately due to security restrictions for this role, the candidate will need to be a British National with no dual nationality and must have resided in the UK for at least 4 of the past 5 years).
Security Controller / Vetting Officer Job Description:
An exciting opportunity has arisen to work within the dynamic and vibrant environment of security vetting. This is a crucial area of business which supports the delivery of security cleared personnel to work within the organization. You and the team will be the first layer of security in ensuring any personnel risks are identified and managed. In addition, you will be required to support the Personnel Security Manager in the successful implementation of the Vetting Strategy.
Responsibilities:
You will be part of a highly motivated and progressive security team
Part of a wider support mechanism that enables us to conduct our business
Your role will be diverseand fast-paced as you support the department in achieving its objectives and reducing risk to the organization
Support HR and Recruitment in obtaining security clearances for new employees.
Supporting confidential and complex vetting enquiries.
Be point of contact for vetting issues/problems.
Liaise with UKSV and other external agencies when appropriate.
Work with external IT platform to obtain and update security clearances.
Provide support to areas of Security Services.
Skillset/experience required:
Essential:
Experience of HMG BPSS and UKSV vetting processes
Excellent interpersonal skills
Ability to work as part of a team and within the wider security department
Able to work under pressure and prioritize work as required
Professional meticulous approach, with a keen eye for detail
Experienced on the use of electronic Vetting Databases and multi IT platforms
'Can do' positive attitude for success
Desirable:
Experience and knowledge of MOD and defense industry
Relevant vetting qualification
Awareness and knowledge of recruitment and onboarding processes for defense industry
Personnel Security awareness for the ongoing aftercare of security cleared staff
Presentational experience for the delivery of training
