Belmont Recruitment currently have a unique opportunity available for an experienced Catering Manager to join North Yorkshire County Council's Facilities Management Service on a 3 month temporary contract, working 37 hours per week (Monday to Friday).
The busy Facilities Management Service includes quality assurance, monitoring, inspection and training to ensure compliance with legislation and good working practise with regard to food safety, health and safety, risk management and NYCC policies and procedures.
As a Catering Manager, you will be responsible for the below:
* Managing the support team which includes a Quality Systems Manager, a Training Manager, a Training & Development Officer and 3 Monitoring and Training Officers.
* Monitoring and inspecting the service of the catering and cleaning in schools and other services ensuring SLA's are met and ensure it is fit for purpose.
* Identifying training needs and developing training plans and courses
* Planning menus with the support of the Training and Development Officer which are popular and compliant, ensuring recipes are fully tested and systems are kept updated
* Assisting the Head of Traded Services in setting budgets for the Training, Monitoring and Inspection services and the Heavy Equipment Replacement Scheme
* Providing specialist advice in kitchen planning and purchasing of new equipment.
Requirements:
* Previous experience of working as a Catering Manager, plus extensive experience of managing and supervising staff
* Knowledge in best practise in facilities management which includes catering and cleaning
* Level 4 Food Safety
* Professional Catering Qualification Level 3 or equivelent
* Available to start ASAP
