This role Is working for a multi-sited manufacturer of high quality and delicious products supplied predominantly to the foodservice sector. Through careful market research and monitoring of trends, the company continually develop exciting new products for their customers.
The job
As Development chef, you will be a key member of the NPD team where you will create and develop new ideas and recipes for new and existing products. Ensuring that all projects are delivered within the timescales agreed.
Core duties:
* Fully document all recipe development ensuring that the NPD process is always followed.
* Ensure the smooth handover of all kitchen development to the Process Technologist and assist in the bakery trials when required.
* Monitor early production runs to ensure the product is produced as required.
* Review development products against HACCP plans.
* Actively contribute to NPD meetings and reviews.
* Keep abreast of all new trends and innovation within and report all findings and ideas to the business.
Your experience
To be considered for the Development Chef job, you will ideally be educated within a culinary arts discipline such as BSc (Hons) Bakery and Patisserie Technology or Culinary Arts in Patisserie.
Previous experience of working as an NPD Chef within the food industry is highly desirable, although not essential as we would consider a talented and innovative Baker or Chef from the foodservice or high-volume professional catering industry who is looking to step into food manufacturing.
You will possess excellent knowledge of bakery and desserts together with a passion for food innovation and a real creative flair.
You should have a good awareness of current and future culinary trends, the ability to organise and coordinate projects to meet customer deadlines.

The Development Chef job is based in Berkshire region and is paying GBP25,000. The working hours are Monday to Friday, 8.30 am - 4.30 pm or 9 am - 5 pm, although some flexibility will be required during peak periods.
