Here at Kingston College, we are now looking for a Head of Section to join our School Management Team. The Section is a large, diverse curriculum with programmes including Business, Esports, Travel & Tourism, Access to HE and HE Counselling. The teaching for this post will currently be focused on BTEC Esports and Business programmes. Your challenge will be to achieve improvement in the student experience and outcomes through a clear range of strategies.

As our Head of Section, we’d like you to hold a Degree or relevant professional qualification in an appropriate subject and have excellent teaching skills, recognised as a good or better teacher on BTEC Business and Esports programmes. With experience of managing, supporting and developing staff, you will have led a BTEC Business and Access curriculum area and have a track record of making sustained improvements.

With high personal standards and expectations, you will have current knowledge of impending curriculum changes and the implications for teaching and learning strategies, and be receptive to new ideas and initiatives, with a creative approach to problem solving. You’ll have experience of successfully monitoring and supporting ‘at-risk’ learners to achieve or exceed their potential and have a strong vision for the improvement and development of the curriculum area.

This position is based at Kingston College.

Closing date for the return of completed applications is 1st July.

The benefits package includes generous annual leave of 37 days plus up to 7 additional days over Christmas/New Year as well as an additional 5 days Wellbeing leave to enhance employees’ physical and mental health. This leave is all in addition to Bank Holiday entitlement. There is an excellent pension scheme that receives a significant financial contribution from the employer (Teachers Pensions or Local Government Pension Scheme), subsidised sports facilities and professional development and training plus a salary sacrifice cycle to work scheme.
