We are currently working with a well-established and forward-thinking client looking for a Dispatch Supervisor to join one of their sites located just outside Stratford-upon-Avon. This is a pivotal role that requires an experienced supervisor who is accustomed to a fast-paced manufacturing/warehouse environment.
The Dispatch Supervisor will be responsible for managing a team of staff and maintaining work activities to meet Dispatch times and enable delivery of finished products to retail customers. To drive productivity and ensure minimal time wasting in the team through effective organisation of people, materials, labels, and product and to effectively monitor and communicate to the team their performance.
This role will be fully responsible for ensuring that Dispatch Operatives are picking orders correctly, Dispatching product correctly and on time, adhering to all Electronic Data Capture System and Quality Control procedures, filing all paperwork and recording temperature checks.
Key responsibilities:
* Liaise with Production and Procurement across all sites to achieve out-loading schedules
* Responsible for the O.T.I.F delivery to ALL of our customers
* Liaise with 3rd Party hauliers regarding daily out-loading issues
* Responsible for the control of loading bays & that the operations of these comply with the H&S regulations
* Responsible for pallet control/reconciliation
* Responsible for the return, checking-in and control (All relevant departments notified) of returned goods
* Responsible for all Transport-related queries sent to the Transport Office
* Responsible for the leadership of his/her team to deliver the customer objectives, using excellent communication techniques using, team meetings, disciplinary, absence counselling & health & safety audits
* Management of Dispatch Team Leaders, Key Colleagues and Operatives
* Ensuring Stock is picked and Dispatched following our In-House Electronic Data Capture System protocols (Barcodes/RDT scanning)
* Ensuring load plans, temperature checks, and maximum pallet utilization is undertaken and paperwork is filed & passed onto the relevant departments
* Assist the Transport Manager to produce detailed weekly Management Reports highlighting all activity undertaken, costings, and customer delivery performance
* Ensure weekly/fortnightly Team Briefings/Meetings are undertaken and shift handovers documented
* Liaising with the I.T Manager on the auditing of the Dispatch functions, and dealing with any breaches of Electronic Data Capture System Dispatch procedure
* To adhere to all aspects of the company hygiene policy and all operational procedures.
* Day to day the fire marshall responsibilities to ensure the working environment is safe in case of a fire
* Responsible for First Aid to provide immediate, lifesaving, medical care before the arrival of further medical help
Experience and Qualifications:
* A' level or equivalent
* Must have a minimum of 1 year's practical experience working in a Transport & Logistics department or FMCG Warehouse
* Experience of working in the food industry, supplying retail multiples, managing Dispatch teams would be a distinct advantage
* Languages: Fluent English - Both written & verbal
* Additional languages to a verbal standard would be beneficial

2pm - 12am, Tuesday to Saturday or Sunday to Thursday
