Procurement Officer

Our client based in Maidstone are looking to recruit a Procurement Officer to join the Procurement and Commercial Fleet Team for a 12 month temporary position covering maternity.

The successful candidate will provide professional procurement support to internal clients throughout the company, principally budget managers and customers who request orders to be placed. You will also liaise with external clients, suppliers and procuring organisations.

The right candidate will have will have experience of Public Sector procurement and you will be a Member of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) or be working towards full CIPS membership.

Duties will include:

• Assisting and working with the Category Manager in the development of strategies to ensure that corporate objectives and the client's operational needs are met.
• Offering advice and guidance on Procurement Service Orders relating to procurement, tendering, contracts, contract management and the use of the Purchase to Pay System.
• Planing, co-ordinating, implementing and managing a range of sourcing events and contract management tools to ensure the continuous improvement of service
• Leading and providing support in developing and promoting an innovative approach to procurement and market analysis.
• Providing data and supplier analysis and support new methods of service delivery
• Working with customers to help define their needs, prepare tender documentation, evaluate and analyse tender responses in accordance with audit regulations
• Analysing and managing spend to identify and help generate opportunities for savings and efficiencies, contract formation and pro-active contract management.
• Networking and building effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Monday - Friday

37 hours per week

Paying GBP15.93 - GBP18.21ph depending on experience

Working remotely and Free parking onsite if the role becomes office based.
