I am pleased to announce an exciting opportunity to work with a market leading, Manufacturing business in Buxton who are renowned in their respective industry and pride themselves on investing in the best people and equipment to remain at the forefront of their market.

I am seeking a Supply Chain Manager to join their busy and growing team and be hands-on in all aspects of the Supply Chain including Purchasing/Procurement, Planning and Stores.

The company manufacture for a number of different industries, with a variety of manufacturing processes and materials to manage. The role will see you manage and continuously improve processes, procedures and relationships across the Supply Chain to the benefit of the business. You will also have a key role to play in an upcoming MRP/ERP implementation project.

You will work alongside an experienced Site Manager who will largely allow you to be autonomous in your position and put your own stamp on the department once you have learnt the inner workings of the company.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

* To manage and develop a Supply Chain team of 6 including Purchasing/Procurement, Planning and Stores.

* To ensure that inventory levels are managed efficiently to minimise stock holding costs to agreed business levels.

* To lead and identify new sources of supply.

* Challenge and spot tactical opportunities that can deliver quick and immediate benefits to the business.

* To review inventory management strategies with a view to continuously improving processes and procedures.

* Be accountable for the annual targets and goals across cost, quality, reliability and delivery.

* Negotiating and influencing suppliers to achieve best market value.

* Develop and own appropriate departmental KPIs to ensure performance and improvement is measured and acted on.

Person Spec:

* Acts on objective information, analyses and forms pragmatic action plans for improvement.

* Strong understanding of the commercial and business implications of failure to deliver quickly and on time and the links to inventory management.

* A proven, hands-on relationships builder at all levels.

* Strong leader with good interpersonal skills, able to build relationships, who will be recognised as the champion of supply.

* Able to listen to the views of a variety of stakeholders and act appropriately.

Experience:

* Demonstrable breadth and depth of Supply Chain/Purchasing expertise in manufacturing or engineering.

* Demonstrable and measurable history of strategic cost saving, improving on time delivery, lead time reduction and effective inventory control.

The company are offering a salary of GBP45k-GBP48k, along with a package including pension, 25 days holiday + 5 service days, BUPA membership and Onsite parking.
