Job Description
Cubed Resourcing are proud to be working as a key strategic partner to Welink Homes who are at the forefront of the modular/offsite build revolution and are investing heavily to become one of the leaders and innovators in this sector.
Welink Homes are in the process of developing their dedicated offsite manufacturing facility in Castleford, West Yorkshire and production has now started! We are recruiting for circa 40 Assembly Operatives due to start in planned stages from June through the coming months with further increases in requirements throughout 2021 and beyond as they expand their manufacturing schedule.
Suitable candidates will have access to a dedicated technical induction and ongoing skills development. Must have qualities include; solid reliability, flexibility, a willingness to learn, good levels of literacy and numeracy and an ability to problem solve and work effectively in a team.
The future is very bright for those that make the grade - offsite construction is fast becoming one of the preferred methods for housebuilding and public sector projects - and therefore offers secure, gainful and sustainable opportunities.
We are taking applications from those who wish to understand more about the opportunity, thereafter we will be carrying out regular sessions comprising:

Introduction of Cubed and our client - sectors, products and vision.
Explanation of modular production methods and real-world applications.
Site tours and further details of roles, responsibilities and opportunities.
Hands on competency based assessments

Candidates:

In addition to having a solid work history and the ability to provide references, you will need to demonstrate a basic aptitude for building mechanical assemblies working from drawings and work instructions. Ideal for those with assembly or construction labouring backgrounds as well as keen DIYers and/or practical hobbyists.
Ideally, you will be familiar with using hand tools, jigs, basic technical drawings and other manufacturing techniques - although those with an aptitude for learning these skills will be given support from the company through their new starter training programme and academy.

A commitment to quality work, right first-time production, output and attention to detail are important pre-requisites.

Duties:

Building modular components, from component level upwards that form the basis of a range of house types.
Use of numerous tools both manual and powered.
Reading basic engineering drawings and schematics.
Quality checking all finished work and amending where necessary.
Actively participating in improvements through the application of continuous improvement techniques and identifying, highlighting and recording any problems that arise during manufacture.
Pay rate:
There will be a range of pay rates; typically, the entry rate will be Level 1 (Gateway/training). In addition to this, there will be an enhancement in line with skills and capability - to Level 2 (competent operator) rising to Level 3 (multi-skilled operator).

These will be paid at an hourly rate starting at GBP9.25, increasing to GBP10.00 at level 2 and a further enhancement to GBP10.75 as a level 3 operator.

Annualised earnings equate to GBP19,240 LV1, GBP20,800 LV2 and GBP22,360 LV3.

Hours:

Initially only days shifts will be available working 07:00 - 17:30 Monday through Thursday (40 hour basic week).

Overtime will occasionally be required and will be paid at an enhanced rate.

As the operation scales up we anticipate a choice of shifts - these are likely to include; days, earlies, afternoons and nights therefore applicants will need to be flexible to meet the changes in the business. Shift premiums will also be available when introduced.
