This fantastic opportunity is one that would suit either an experienced Science Teaching Assistant or a science graduate seeking school-based experience ahead of a PGCE or Initial Teacher Training.

The role of the Science Teaching Assistant is to support and develop experiments within practical lessons in Chemistry, Biology and Physics at both GCSE and A Level. This includes supporting the teaching staff in all areas of Science and supervising student learning activities. With a September start, this wonderful secondary school is keen to recruit an inspirational Graduate Teaching Assistant. Ideally, you'll be a high achieving graduate, with aspirations of becoming a teacher. If you have the confidence, charisma and ability to raise aspirations and attainment, this would be the perfect place to gain experience before teacher training.

The school are proud of consistently excellent GCSE results which is why they want to bring in assistance to students that may require the extra support in order to help them achieve their targets. You will be expected to provide 1:1 support to struggling students who may have fallen behind with Science work and also assist the class teacher in the running of lab experiments.
