Our established Joinery Manufacturing client is currently recruiting for an experienced or qualified Bench Joiner with Supervisory or Coordinator level experience.
This is an exciting career move to join an established industry leader. Based in Corby, Northamptonshire. Commutable from Northampton, Kettering, Peterborough and Leicester. Job titles could be Workshop Supervisor, Production Supervisor, Joinery Supervisor, Production Coordinator, Workshop Coordinator, Production Team Leader.
Job Purpose:
You are responsible for the Refit & Composite department, ensuring it meets the requirements and quality of work orders/ drawings. Overall responsibility for team success by agreeing, implementing and monitoring individual and team objectives whilst ensuring company policies and procedures are adhered to.
Duties Include:
• Organising production flow for Refit/Composite through production planner
• Organise team workload/delegation/motivation through production planner
• Working to and reporting department KPI's
• Ensure performance/quality is kept to a high standard
• Ensure department is running efficiently with ZERO-time waste, working to lean processes
• Meeting department deadlines
• Aiming to work to ZERO waste - reworks, rejects and replacements within department
• Ensure jobs are completed to works order sheets and drawings
• Ensure department is working to SOP's
• Review and update SOP's if required
• Overall responsibility for departments manufactory
• Quality control checks of all items assembled by the department
• Ensure assembled items are correctly presented to the next department - if going to finishing/dispatch
• Investigate Internal errors and find/deliver the solution to the department
• Deliver corrective action of complaints to the department
• Oversee staff job description and objectives within department are met
• Liaising/maintaining effective links with other Coordinators and Contracts team
• Ensure department overtime is organised as per production needs and authorised
• Responsible for department stock, ordering, receiving, maintenance and stock takes
• Ensure all items purchased are checked against PO's and storages are reported
• Complete machine, department training
• Ensure correct usage of tablets and tablets are maintained kept safe & intact- if in use
• Ensure accurate data is recorded on tablets - completion of job, times and reworks - if in use
• Tool kits are used and stored correctly
• All machinery is used correctly, and PPE is worn
• Ensuring maintenance log is completed
• Fire Marshal for department and factory
• Attend and lead meetings when required
• Conduct appraisal and disciplinary's with assistance of Management if required
• Assisting other departments with your knowledge and experience if required
Key Skills / Experience Required:
• Experienced or qualified Bench Hand Joiner
• Composite door manufacturing experience
• Reporting department data/ KPI's to management
• Good housekeeping is kept within department and whole workshop
• Staff within department adhere to ISO 9001/FSC procedures/ISO 14001
• Department is operating to health & safety regulations
• Work within department is carried in accordance to fire risk and risk assessment
• Staff are complying to manual handling procedures
• Maintenance of machinery within department is completed, breakdowns are reported and overseen
• Department staff adhere to staff handbook, company policies and procedures
