What does a Support Worker do?

As a Support Worker you will be expected to provide an outstanding level of support that will enormously contribute to the people we support, living a more comfortable, dignified, liberated and happy life.

Supporting people to live independently - budget management, paying bills, housework, organising appointments and cooking delicious healthy meals.

Excellent communication skills/relationship building - supporting the person to understand the world around them and promoting positive relationships.

Community & Social Inclusion- Supporting individuals to access and participate in their local community and Social events to promote life skills and individuality.

Understanding and following all government and company policies and practice with regards to the COVID 19 pandemic and assisting the people we support to understand this changing world.

There are currently two full time, fixed term contract posts (initially three months but may be extended) available at our Garden Walk service in central Cambridge.

Shifts start at varying times between 07:00 and 14:30 and finish at varying times between 14:30 and 22:00. Average shift lengths are 7.5 hours but do vary. Sleep in shifts are from 14:30-22:00 and then from 07:00-14:30 the next day. Staff are expected to work one weekend off one on.
