Our client is a successful group which has grown through acquisition. Within the group is a precision engineering business producing both hydraulic components and a 'design & build' service of hydraulic systems, to both the OEM and end user markets.
They offer a high level of technical expertise and have a long-standing reputation for high quality service levels. Supplying to a wide range of industries, they now seek a first-class Application / Design Engineer with strong experience of hydraulic systems.
Reporting to and working closely with the Engineering Manager, this role fills a crucial position within the technical team. Working alongside their sales colleagues, interpreting & developing the customer's hydraulic power requirements into a working solution (with a complete hydraulic circuit layout), the successful candidate will then generate the detailed 3d CAD schematics necessary to meet those needs. Following on, they will also oversee on-going projects through 'pre-production', liaising with all internal departments and the customer at all stages.
While office based, the position involves a degree of customer liaison and discussion to ensure their requirements are best met, with occasional visits to their sites as and when required.
As the ideal candidate, you will have a proven technical record gained with the hydraulics systems sector. Able to carry out all hydraulic calculations necessary to resolve your client's fluid power needs, developing this understanding into a working hydraulic circuit design. A good communicator you will be comfortable when discussing technical requirements with customers and resolving and agreeing any questions arising from solution.
A skilled mechanical engineer, by experience, qualification or both, you will have the breadth of capability to both specify and design the circuit and ensure it's successful creation and delivery. Ideally though not essentials your CAD skills will be strong, but there is CAD support internally when necessary.
An interesting, responsible and genuinely developmental opportunity for a qualified candidate looking to make a real difference, to a business with great potential.
