We are undertaking recruitment for our client Orthios, who have an exciting opportunity for a Plant Engineer to join the team at their Eco Park located in Holyhead, Anglesey (North Wales). You will join them on a full-time, permanent basis and in return, you will receive a competitive salary. Their main objective is delivering local solutions for global climate change challenges by recycling and converting non- recyclable material into clean, green energy.
You will be based at their Operational Site Office in Holyhead, Anglesey. The Orthios Eco Park comprises a suite of innovative technologies to generate products for use in both the domestic and industrial markets. Orthios's major projects include the (P20) pyrolysis depolymerisation of plastics for the production of synthetic blending oils, mechanical separation of SRF into high grade feedstocks and electrical generation for distribution via the National Grid using excess non- condensing pyrolysis gases in reciprocating engines.
Plastics-2-Oil is an innovative safe, cost effective and clean technology to decompose polymers to obtain a re-usable mix of oils, chemicals gas and heat and it is a key project in Orthios team's determination to become fully carbon neutral operation by 2030.

The role:
As our Plant Engineer, you will report to the Senior Technical Manager and will have following responsibilities: proposals, projects, consultancy activities and working withing agreed time scales. In addition, the qualifications required are also listed below, including a minimum of 8 years of experience.
Key responsibilities of their Plant Engineer:
- Identify areas of the plant to be optimised, introduce solutions and plant process improvements whilst improving safety and reducing hazards.
- Identify the causes for drift in product the specification and work with the engineering and operational teams to correct the causes and prevent further occurrences.
- Produce detailed technical reports to justify manufacturing and design improvements.
- Work with the project team to ensure the efficient use of resources.
- Utilising small teams on site for improvement projects and using consulting resources where appropriate.
- 24/7 site so possibility of extended working hours for shutdowns or installation works.
Our Plant Engineer will have the following skills and experience:
- Degree qualified in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with strong EC&I skills.
- Experience in plant support activities in a petro-chemical, waste to energy or similar hazardous manufacturing environment.
- Understanding of DSEAR, PED, IED requirements.
- Good understanding of health and safety.
- Ability to work with multi-disciplinary engineers, technicians and process plant operators.
- Ability to process optimise and undertake calculations to back up plant observations.
- Good report writing and presentation skills.
- Experience in trouble shooting.
- Experience in rotating equipment (Mechanical Engineer).
- Experience in Conveying equipment (Mechanical Engineer).
- Experience in process control.
