We have a Temporary to Permenant position for a Maintenance Electrician, based in the Newport area.
Pay rate for the first 13 weeks approx GBP19.00 per hour.
after 13 weeks the PAYE rate to be confirmed but approximately GBP17.00 per hour.
Description of key result areas of department
To assist the management, organise and delivery of a high-quality Mechanical/ Electrical engineering service to production management which is designed to provide the optimum in plant availability, meet with company targets in accordance with budget plans and the Company's policies and procedures
Job Description: Description of activities and key responsibilities of the function
• Fault location and repair of A.C. Drives, A.C. wound rotor motors, D.C. Drives and their respective control systems, Closed loop control systems, Thyristor systems for both A.C. and D.C. variable speed drives and Transformers and their associated equipment
• Fault location and repair of plant electrical systems.
• PLC interrogation
• Be familiar with 17th Edition Regulations
• Write reports as deemed necessary
• Carry out electrical plant isolation following authorisation
• Complete work lists/check sheets being part of a planned maintenance system
• Complete any job cards relating to work required to be carried out.
• Liaise with production operatives on all areas of the plant throughout the shift
• Fault location and maintenance of cranes (25T, 40T, Jetty)
• In the event of absenteeism by the Electrical Foreman, the electrician must be
prepared to cover the job in its entirety
• Be familiar with the operation and control of each area.
• Work as part of a multifunction maintenance team.
• Take part in any training programmes that the company deems necessary
• Comply with all company policies and controls
• Comply with all procedures, notices and any other requirements relating to Health and Safety
• Comply with all procedures, notices and any other requirements relating to the Environment
• Ensure Housekeeping standards are maintained within all working areas
• Perform other duties both within this and other departments to achieve the Company's objectives
• Comply with Company procedures and controls
• Perform other duties both within this and other Departments to achieve the Company's objectives
• Support company safety initiatives
• General warehouse maintenance
• Other duties as assigned
