Summary

We're looking for an enthusiastic and passionate Cook to join our team here at Greys Court. If you like team-work, thrive in busy environments and enjoy recipe cooking (or perhaps even looking to start your journey in Food and Beverage!) then this could be the role for you.

Working Hours: 25 hours per week on a permanent contract (with additional hours available for holiday cover)

Salary: GBP8.91 - GBP9.27 per hour dependent upon experience

Working patterns: Weekends and weekdays required, available on Bank Holidays and school holidays. Weekend work is scheduled in advance where possible with a balance of weekends and weekdays across a 3-4 working week.

At Greys Court Tea Room, we are a supportive, team-work driven workplace, where working together creates the best experience for our visitors. Based in Henley On Thames, Greys Court is an intimate family home and peaceful estate with a picturesque 16th-century mansion and tranquil gardens. Once home to the Brunner family, the series of walled gardens is a colourful patchwork of interest set amid medieval ruins. Other buildings from earlier eras include the Great Tower from the 14th century and a rare Tudor donkey wheel, in use until the early 20th century. Greys Court is considered a treasure amongst the National Trust.

What you'll be doing

With your passion for food and your appetite to provide an exceptional service to your customers, you'll work with the head chef and use the National Trust Cookbook framework to prepare our delicious food. You'll work with local and our home grown produce to create fresh, tasty and beautifully presented dishes for our visitors. You're focus on finding innovative ways to minimise waste and control costs will be an asset to improving our contribution and help keep our beautiful places available forever, for everyone.

Your role of leading lunch service, food preparation, sandwich making and baking makes you a key team member to effectively achieving and delivering great results.

You'll help the Food & Beverage team ensure our kitchens are presented to the highest standard and are compliant with all relevant legislation around food hygiene and COSHH.

The National Trust ethos will always be at the forefront of your mind, and you'll be proud to share our good work with our customers, you'll look to maximise sales with new ideas so that the profit can be reinvested back into our conservation work.
