As the Warehouse Operations Manager, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing the receiving, handling, storing, picking, and packing activities within the warehouse, ensuring quality standards are met at every turn. You must be exceptionally detail oriented, and able to track multiple facets of the warehouse at any given time. You must achieve inventory accuracy, coordinate orders, and track shipping times, ultimately overseeing the fulfilment of thousands of product orders every year.
By streamlining all warehouse activities, you will help drive overall profitability and customer satisfaction.
You must develop the team by focusing on individual performance and support requirements to achieve high standards, whilst fostering a culture of working safely. Work under general supervision, reviewed by Management.
Exceptional warehouse management is the key operational requirement of this role along with the need for excellent people management.
Objective of this role:
- Ensure the warehouse operates at peak efficiency, with customer satisfaction being the primary goal, by supervising, organizing, directing, and training warehouse employees and establishing, monitoring, and managing operation goals
- Develop warehouse operations systems by determining product handling and storage requirements, equipment utilization, inventory management, gate processes, and shipping
- Train and manage a warehouse team to solve day-to-day operational issues and reach short- and long-term performance goals
- Oversee daily operations, while controlling and managing inventory and logistics
- Review and prepare workflow, manning and space requirements, equipment layout, and action plans while ensuring productivity, quality and customer service standards are met
- Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervise daily activities of the warehouse, including quality assurance, inventory control, space management, logistics, floor productivity, courier requirements and staff/turnover ratio.
- Support Dispatch Controller by ensuring that labels for ship by day, prime orders, express orders are brought out on time on every working day; and that all the batches for that day clears out.
- Support outgoing couriers every day to ensure all collections take place as scheduled and arrange any emergency collections as required.
- To support Operation Officers with Inbound team to help how incoming deliveries are handled, sorted, and allocated to Bay locations, Bay locations are made and organised, and ensuring stock checks and unit counts are accurately backed by your continuous audit. Weekly stock check report and monthly itemised audits for both warehouses are required.
- Schedule and oversee warehouse team to meet the demands of order fulfilment, and manage the flow and quality of work to maximize efficiency and minimize overtime.
- Inspect equipment, and tools of daily use like computers and bubble wrap machines regularly, and oversee general maintenance as needed.
- Meet regularly with Management to review, analyze, and develop actionable plans for productivity and loss prevention.
- Constantly work to improve processes, by identifying any system improvements and make recommendations for change.
- Make suggestions for productivity improvements.
- Communicate and collaborate with other team members.
- Train, guide and evaluate new warehouse staff.
- Support in running an efficient warehouse operation which is able to fulfil operational demand and meet set targets.
- Where possible resolve any issues or problems which occur in the warehouse. Where appropriate elevate the issue to Management (Operations Manager)
- Produce regular reports and statistics as and when required.
- Build and maintain good relationship with key stakeholders (Management, Operations Officers, and Operation Assistants, and external stakeholders)
- Support staff in ensuring that all lifting and manoeuvring of products and materials is carried out in accordance with manual handling procedures.
- Daily liaison with Team Leader and Operation Assistants to ensure staff attendance are inline with daily shift requirements, daily rates are met, packaging quality and packaging stations are in order, and orders are ready to go out in time.
- Ensure that health and safety requirements are met, and carry out risk assessments regularly.
- Ensure staff comply with health, safely and environmental regulations, and work safely to protect themselves and others in the warehouse environment
- Support HR with providing employee training, development and engagement.
- Monitor daily rates and respond to issues in the warehouse and with staff.
- Support Team Leader to ensure a clean and tidy working environment to aid operational efficiency
People Management:
- Manage time and attendance for operatives within area of responsibility, and support Team Leader with people management issues.
- Communicate with staff on a regular basis to make them aware of priorities, targets and operational requirements
- Support with recruitment and train staff as well as monitor performance and progress to ensure targets are met
- Report progress updates, key achievements and any concerns to Management.

Qualification and Education Required:
- A-Level or higher
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in working in a warehouse or a supervisor role.
