Summary
This is a great opportunity to join our team in Wales. As Marketing and Communications Consultant, you will lead the Marcomms team in Wales, working with a dynamic and energetic team where you will have the opportunity to play a part in making a difference every day. This is a leadership role, bringing stability and strategic direction to your team, and the wider comms cohort in Wales, providing support and expertise across our Nation both at the front line and strategically.
This is an exciting time for the National Trust in Wales. Working with our property and consultancy teams, this role will be instrumental in shaping how National Trust Cymru is seen in Wales and the wider world.
Alongside the Marketing and Communications Consultant role we are also recruiting for an External Affairs consultant, we recognise that there may be some overlap of skills and experience with these two posts so we welcome applications from candidates whose skills match both roles to apply for both roles.

What you'll be doing
Reporting into, and working closely with, your Consultancy Manager, the Senior Management Team and our central Heads of Profession, you will work to shape our strategy and support our amazing places across Wales.
You'll manage and lead a team of Marketing and Communications professionals to deliver our strategy across Wales, you'll be responsible for providing direction, being clear on priorities, as well as coaching and supporting colleague. This is a key role in ensuring our reputation is well managed, so knowledge of crisis comms is a must, and a passion for heritage, and the environment would be a great advantage.
You'll often be consulted by members of our leadership team at our properties to share your professional knowledge and advice to help their teams work most effectively. In addition, you will work with the broader National Trust Marketing and Communications community nationally to share knowledge and great practice.

We are looking for an experienced people manager and leader with a breadth of Marketing and Communications knowledge and experience gained within complex organisations. Who we're looking for

- Ability to communicate and operate through the medium of Welsh is highly desirable
- Knowledge of the Welsh political landscape
- Experience of working with senior leadership teams and making a proactive contribution to their success
- People management experience including recruitment, motivation and successful management of teams across multiple sites
- Strong team working and collaboration, an ability to build relationships
- Open, constructive and proactive in sharing knowledge
- Confident, highly organised and client-focused, with great communication skills and is comfortable working at pace
