Simarco Worldwide Logistics is a family owned, award-winning distribution company providing a range of collection and delivery services throughout mainland UK. Established in 1997, we operate a large, wholly owned fleet of vehicles providing nationwide and local distribution.
We currently have a vacancy for a Credit Controller based in our office in Witham. This is a permanent, full-time role.
Main purpose of the role:
To be responsible for managing the debts of the business; overseeing all debts owed to a company from existing creditors and managing new requests for credit; to handle the expected VAT and duty debts following Brexit.
Principal Requirements/Responsibilities:
* Credit checks via credit safe for new and existing accounts
* Setting up new accounts
* Follow up credit control calls by telephone and email
* Send monthly Statements by email
* Resolve account queries with internal departments
* Ensure that all telephone conversations or email communications are recorded in our in-house systems
* Keep actions up to date and diarise for responses such as following up on emails, phone calls, promise to pay and debt letters sent
* Make Line Manager aware immediately of any potential problem accounts
* Make sales aware before putting customer account in query, when appropriate
* Review credit limits
* To attempt to ensure that debtors days remain at * General administrative and filing support for the Finance Director
* Ad-hoc duties/tasks as requested by your Line Manager or a Director.
Experience / Skills required:
* Previous experience in Credit Control is essential
* Experience within a logistics or transport company would be an added advantage
* Use of range of office software, including email, spreadsheets and databases
* Excellent organisational and time management skills
* Excellent customer service skills
* Ability to influence others
* High attention to detail
* Ability to work to deadlines with accuracy
* Microsoft Word and Excel at entry level
* The capacity to prioritise tasks and work under pressure
* Strong oral and written communication skills
* Ability to work unsupervised and work on own initiative
* Ability to explain financial matters clearly
* Team player.
Working hours:
Monday to Friday, 37.5 hour per week between 9 a.m. - 5.30 p.m. (this includes a one hour meal break which is unpaid)
