About Us
Westcountry Rivers Trust (WRT) is an environmental charity dedicated to restoring and protecting the region’s rivers, lakes, estuaries and coastal areas.
We’re now looking for a highly organised Bookkeeper to join our team on either a full-time or part-time basis, working a minimum of three days per week.
The Benefits
- Salary of £22,000 - £25,000 per annum (pro rata for part-time)
- Pension scheme (9% employer contribution)
This is a fantastic opportunity to broaden your accountancy knowledge while supporting the financial health of a charity at the forefront of environmental thinking and practical conservation.
We believe our people are our most important asset and strive to provide a stimulating environment where employees are supported to reach their professional goals.
What’s more, if you’re looking to take on an engaging part-time role that you can fit around your existing responsibilities, we have various working hours available and are eager to discuss your requirements.
The Role
As a Bookkeeper, you’ll perform a range of tasks to support our Finance function.
Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will:
- Process transactions in a timely manner
- Support sales and purchase ledger activities
- Review timesheets and produce monthly expenses invoices
- Assist with the year end audit
- Support credit control tasks
About You
To join us as a Bookkeeper, you’ll need:
- Previous experience in a similar accountancy role
- Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel
- A full, valid driving licence and access to your own vehicle (which is insured for business use)
- Good interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships
- A great eye for detail and the ability to work to deadlines
Knowledge of Xero and/or another accountancy package would be beneficial to your application, as would an understanding of charity accounts and their unique nature.
Other organisations may call this role Bookkeeper, Accounts Assistant, Accounts Administrator, Accounts Clerk, Finance Assistant, Finance Administrator, or Finance Clerk.
This is ideally a full-time role, however, part time applications will be considered, working a minimum of three days per week.
